# Problem Statement

Blockchain technology and Bitcoin have flourished since 2009, back when Bitcoin was traded among geeks on forums as a medium of exchanging value without intermediaries or centralized authorities. Fast forward to today, and Bitcoin is being stored and traded not just peer-to-peer, but by banks, institutions, and large funds that buy, store, and utilize both blockchain technology and Bitcoin itself.

The major problem now is that Bitcoin has reached extremely high prices, even surpassing the $100,000 mark, whereas when it started, it was worth less than $0.50.

People today are hesitant and don't know if they should get into Bitcoin, as it seems both too expensive and highly volatile. Nevertheless, staying completely out of the blockchain space might carry an even greater risk, especially as this ecosystem continuously expands and is being accumulated by major institutions

### 🔍 A Structural Gap

Taken together, these issues reveal a deeper gap in the current Web3 landscape.

What is missing is not simply better products, but better systems, systems where:

* users retain full control over their assets
* participation is based on understanding rather than speculation
* incentives are aligned with real usage and contribution
* and execution is governed by transparent, deterministic logic

AIONET is designed to address this gap at its foundation.
